Forbidden Dream

Forbidden Dream

A queering of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream.

In a City where the views of it’s people are extreme, black and white, wrong and right, shame and blame, for anything that doesn’t conform, to the norm, or expectation. No sense of elation or celebration for free love. Lovers Hermia and Lil flee from the City and find safety in Club Forbidden, a place of freedom, acceptance and magic in abundance.

They are welcomed by Queen Titania and her flock of fairies as they enter a maze of madness and mayhem. Love, laughter, lesbians, glitter, shots, dancing, music, mischief, magic, feathers, fairies and much more! What more do you want in a show.

Come to Forbidden a place where all your dreams can come true...

Also Featuring pre-show piece EMMA by Amy Holmes

Auditioning for anything is stressful at the best of times, but imagine what it’s like to do your first one as a trans person. You’re finally playing the role you feel you were born to play in real life, but can you convince someone to cast you in that role in fiction too?

This piece is presented as part of the Black Sheep Collective’s Artists’ Development, with support from dramaturg, Georgia Tillery-Randak
